Where's This House? is a residential geography guessing game. This policy explains what information the app uses, why it is used, and how to contact us.
Information We Collect
- Account information, such as email address, display name, handle, and authentication identifiers when you create an account.
- Gameplay information, such as match participation, guess coordinates you submit, distance results, scores, leaderboard entries, and timestamps.
- Basic app and service diagnostics needed to keep the app reliable, secure, and working as expected.
- If you allow push notifications: a random app-install identifier, the Apple Push Notification service (APNs) device token issued for the app, your notification preference, and the last registration time.
- Promotional-card interaction data if we add measurement for first-party HomeLight promotional placements in a future release.
Information We Do Not Collect in the Launch Build
- We do not request your device's precise location for core gameplay.
- We do not access contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
- We do not use a third-party advertising SDK in the launch build.
- We do not show homeowner names, exact street addresses, active listings, HomeLight customer data, or private transaction data in game rounds.
How We Use Information
- To create and secure player accounts.
- To run game rounds, submit guesses, calculate scores, and show results.
- To support Daily, Friend, and Online modes when those features become available.
- To troubleshoot bugs, prevent abuse, and improve app reliability.
- To show first-party HomeLight promotional content where appropriate.
- To deliver optional Daily Drop, leaderboard, and other game announcements.
Push Notifications
Push notifications are optional. If you allow them, we use the random installation identifier and APNs device token only to operate notifications, not for advertising or cross-app tracking. We disable the token when you turn notifications off in the app or when Apple reports that the token is no longer valid.
Service Providers
The app may use service providers for maps, Street View imagery, authentication, database hosting, backend hosting, app distribution, and diagnostics. These providers process information as needed to deliver their services.
Maps and Street View
Game rounds use Google Maps and Street View content from public roads in the United States. Google may process requests according to its own terms and privacy practices when maps or Street View content loads.
HomeLight
The app is powered by HomeLight branding and may show first-party HomeLight promotional cards. These cards may link to real-world real estate or mortgage services. They are not payment gates for game features.
Data Retention
We retain account and gameplay information for as long as needed to provide the app, preserve scores and leaderboard history, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Notification identifiers are retained while notifications are enabled and are disabled when you opt out or when Apple reports that a token is no longer valid.
Children
The app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your Choices
You can contact us to request help with account access, account deletion, or privacy questions. Some gameplay records may be retained where needed for security, integrity, legal, or operational reasons.
